Over 30 Years of Fixed Operations Experience
Our experienced professionals have worked in and consulted on dealership fixed operations for over 30 years.
We are a team of veteran automotive professionals who specialize in developing fixed operations managers. We share years of experience and proven, real-world strategies that move a dealership's operating culture away from impulse management toward internal coaching, accountability, and teamwork. Mitchell Automotive Services has been "in the trenches" guiding and directing fixed operations managers in the automotive industry since 1987.
- You're our priority
- We succeed when you succeed
- Helping you win is what we do
Certified & Trusted
Our appraiser is NEBB MCMEA (Master Certified Machinery & Equipment Appraisers) certified. Our valuation reports stand up to scrutiny from banks, lenders, the IRS, attorneys, insurers, and CPAs — giving both buyers and sellers confidence in every transaction.
Where We Work
Based in Phoenix, Arizona, we travel to dealerships across the United States. Our physical inventory staff and supervision are our responsibility — the liability of having non-dealership personnel perform your count rests with us, because we are licensed, bonded, and insured.

Why an Independent Third Party Matters
Almost everything we do could, in theory, be done in-house. Dealerships can count their own parts, assess their own liability, and value their own equipment. The reason they generally should not comes down to three things that no internal team can provide for itself.
Objectivity
When the people responsible for inventory performance are also the people measuring it, the result cannot function as a performance-rating tool. An outside count removes internal bias and gives ownership an unfiltered picture of the department's true position.
Transferred Liability
We are licensed, bonded, and insured. Our count staff and our supervision are our responsibility, so the risk of having non-dealership personnel working in your parts department sits with us rather than with your store.
Defensibility
Banks, lenders, the IRS, attorneys, insurers, and CPAs weigh a certified third-party valuation very differently from an internal spreadsheet. When a number has to survive scrutiny, its source matters as much as its accuracy.
Fixed Operations Is All We Do
We are not a general inventory company that happens to take dealership work. Since 1987 our entire focus has been dealership fixed operations — parts departments, service drives, and the management disciplines that hold them together. That focus is the reason a Mitchell engagement tends to surface things a general counting service would walk straight past.
Our people have worked in these departments, not just audited them. When we look at a counter pad we recognize the difference between a part that is genuinely dead and one that simply lost its bin location three managers ago. When we observe a service drive we know which shortcuts signal a process problem and which are just an unusually busy Tuesday. That context is difficult to hire and impossible to shortcut.
It also shapes how we work with your team. Our aim has never been to hand a dealer a report and an invoice — it is to move an operating culture away from impulse management toward internal coaching, accountability, and teamwork, so the improvement outlasts our visit.
